If you have been struggling against the brutal bosses in Game Science’s masterpiece, Black Myth: Wukong, you are not alone. While the game shares DNA with incredibly difficult titles like Mortal Shell 2, it offers a very unique mechanic to help struggling players: Meditation Spots.
There are exactly 24 Meditation Spots hidden throughout the game’s five main chapters. The first time you interact with one of these glowing golden cushions, the Destined One will sit down, enjoy a beautiful panoramic view of the environment, and instantly receive one Spark (the game’s terminology for a Skill Point). Finding all 24 spots will not only give you a massive advantage in combat by allowing you to unlock powerful staff stances and spells, but it will also unlock the coveted “Scenic Seeker” achievement.
Unlike missing a crucial side quest, none of these spots are missable. You can always use a Keeper’s Shrine to fast-travel back to previous chapters. If you want to ensure your game is running smoothly while exploring these gorgeous environments, be sure to check our guide on Ways to Optimize Steam Game Performance.
Without further ado, here is our complete, image-heavy guide detailing exactly where to find all 24 Meditation Spot locations in Black Myth: Wukong.
Chapter 1: Black Wind Mountain
The opening chapter introduces you to the lush, treacherous forests of the Black Wind Mountain. There are three meditation spots hidden here.
1. The Arbor (Forest of Wolves)
Your very first meditation spot is located early in the game. From the “Outside the Forest” Keeper’s Shrine, progress forward until you reach a large wooden gazebo structure (The Arbor). The golden meditation cushion is located directly inside the structure.
2. The Cavern (Bamboo Grove)
Fast travel to the “Back Hills” shrine in the Bamboo Grove. Follow the main path downwards until you spot a dark cavern entrance on your left. Head inside to find a quiet, damp cave where you can meditate for your second Spark.
3. The Cliff (Black Wind Cave)
After the grueling boss fight against the Whiteclad Noble, proceed into the Black Wind Cave. Before heading deep into the tunnel, look for a small wooden platform built into the side of the cliff. The meditation spot sits here, offering a stunning view of the valley.
Chapter 2: Yellow Wind Ridge
The barren, sandy dunes of Chapter 2 hide a total of six meditation spots. Keep an eye out for hidden alcoves, as the sandstorms can obscure your vision.
4. The Altar (Sandgate Village)
Located directly inside Sandgate Village. After clearing out the rat enemies near the main entrance, look for a small ruined altar tucked away in the corner of the village square.
5. The Deadwood (Rockrest Flat)
Travel to the Rockrest Flat shrine. Head right from the shrine into a clearing featuring a massive, dead tree. The meditation spot is located right at the base of the twisted roots.
6. The Ravine (Rock Clash Platform)
Near the Rock Clash Platform. After navigating the perilous wooden bridges, you will find a narrow ravine. The spot is located near a small stone marker just before the boss arena.
7. The Sculpture (Crouching Tiger Temple)
This one is hard to miss. After defeating the Vanguard Tiger boss, do not immediately proceed down the bloody stairs. Instead, look to the left side of the courtyard to find this meditation spot near a stone sculpture.
8. The Grotto (Yellow Wind Formation)
Located in the Yellow Wind Formation area. Look for an alternate path leading down into a small grotto filled with aggressive sand-enemies. Clear them out to claim your skill point.
9. The Rock (Sandgate Bound)
Found in the Sandgate Bound area. You will need to climb a series of steep rocks near the edge of the map. The spot is located at the very peak, overlooking the desert.
Chapter 3: The New West
The frozen landscapes and towering temples of Chapter 3 contain five easily missable meditation spots.
10. The Shade (Mirrormere)
Right at the beginning of the chapter, near the Mirrormere shrine. Look for a massive, snow-covered tree casting a large shadow near the frozen lake.
11. The Bottom (Pagoda Realm)
This is located in the bottom floor of the Pagoda Realm prison. After falling down (or climbing down) to the ground level where the chanting enemies patrol, look for a small circular room containing the cushion.
12. The Statue (Precept Corridor)
Travel to the Precept Corridor shrine. Proceed forward until you enter a large hall with a massive, damaged golden Buddha statue. The meditation spot sits directly at its base.
13. The Track (Mindfulness Cliff)
Near the Mindfulness Cliff. Follow the wooden scaffolding wrapped around the snowy mountain. Before entering the next cave, you will find this spot looking out over the blizzard.
14. The Hall (New Thunderclap Temple)
Deep within the New Thunderclap Temple. Explore the side rooms of the main temple complex to find a quiet, uncorrupted hall containing the final spot for this chapter. (If you enjoy massive, intricate maps like this, you will definitely love the open world of Gangstar Mirage City).
Chapter 4: The Webbed Hollow
Prepare for a lot of spiders. The dark, subterranean Webbed Hollow contains six crucial meditation spots, including one hidden in a secret area.
15. The Carvings (Pool of Shattered Jade)
Near the Pool of Shattered Jade shrine. Look for a large wall covered in ancient Buddhist carvings. The meditation cushion sits directly in front of the center carving.
16. The Tree (Middle of the Hollow)
From the Middle of the Hollow shrine, drop down into the lower cavern and look for a massive, glowing tree root plunging into the earth. The spot is next to a small brazier.
17. Cave Depths (Lower Hollow)
Located in the Lower Hollow. You will need to navigate through several egg-sacs and spider ambushes to find a dead-end tunnel containing this spot.
18. The Height (Forest of Ferocity)
In the Forest of Ferocity area, look for a series of ledges you can jump up to. The meditation spot sits at the highest point, offering a rare view of the sky through the canopy.
19. The Pines (Temple of Yellow Flowers)
Inside the Temple of Yellow Flowers. Before fighting the final boss of the chapter, explore the side courtyards to find a peaceful garden filled with pine trees and this meditation spot.
20. The Ledge (Purple Cloud Mountain)
Secret Area! You must defeat the Venom Daoist to unlock the Purple Cloud Mountain. Once inside, follow the main path until you see a narrow ledge extending over the clouds.
Chapter 5: Flaming Mountains
The final batch of meditation spots are located in the blistering heat of the Flaming Mountains. There are four spots here to finalize your skill tree.
21. The Relief (Camp of Seasons)
After dealing with the first Flaming Cart mini-boss in the Camp of Seasons, follow the path through a cave and across a wooden bridge. You will find a large stone relief carving with the meditation spot in front of it.
22. The Buddha (The Emerald Hall)
Located inside The Emerald Hall. After clearing the enemies, look for a large Buddha statue overlooking a river of lava. The cushion is situated right at the edge.
23. The Crag (Ashen Pass III)
Travel to the Ashen Pass III Keeper’s Shrine. Instead of moving forward toward the objective, turn around and look behind a pile of large craggy rocks to find this hidden spot.
24. The Screen (Purge Pit)
Secret Area! This spot is located in the Bishui Cave, which is unlocked by completing the chapter’s hidden questline. From the Purge Pit shrine, take the path to the right to find a large stone screen. The final meditation spot is located right here.
